From the Pastor

April 2016

Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

We’ve been waiting to shout this for weeks. Are you in good voice?

We have waited, experiencing and enduring the passion and death of Jesus Christ. Now we are able to celebrate his gift of resurrection life. Are you in good voice?

We have studied and we have served. We have offered worship and we have given to support God’s presence. Now in the light of the resurrection, we head out to greater service and greater giving in the name of Jesus. Are you in good voice?

Throughout the season of Easter, we will hear of Jesus coming among the disciples and promising peace. How will your celebration of the Easter season convey the fullness of God? How will it take seriously the wants of a people hungering for more?

One way we will answer this call is by having a worship service with the laying on of hands and anointing for healing. On Sunday, April 24 at 4 p.m. we will gather in the nave for this unique service which asks for God’s grace and help. Come to this service. Invite and bring along someone who needs to hear the word of healing only God can provide. The time and format of this service will be helpful for people who otherwise find it difficult to make the morning worship.

We will have this service twice a year. The other time will be Sunday, October 16.

Continue to care for your neighbor by your deeds, and by your good voice shouting:

Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

Clifton D. Eshbach,

Pastor

A Service of Holy Communion With the Laying on of Hands and Anointing for Healing

A Service of Holy Communion With the Laying on of Hands and Anointing for Healing

Sunday, April 24, 4 p.m.

Come and receive the gifts of laying on of hands and anointing. These are gifts we first receive at baptism. We are reminded again that we are marked with the cross of Christ forever, who is health and salvation for the whole world.

Through these gifts we celebrate God’s promise of wholeness and peace, and God’s love embodied in the community of faith.

Community Yard Sale

Saturday, May 7 @ 8:00 a.m.

COMMUNITY YARD SALE  SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2016

8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Mark your calendar now for this annual event which benefits our youth group ministries.  It’s a fun day with food, music, and plenty of bargains waiting to be scooped up by savvy shoppers.  It’s a great way to reach out to our neighbors and introduce them to Holy Spirit. This is a big event and it takes all of us to make it a success.

Here are several ways for you to get involved and help out.

* Reserve a space, set up your own table and sell all those items that have been cluttering up the garage or the clothing the kids have outgrown.

* Don’t have enough items for your own table but want to get rid of some things?  Donate them to the church’s table.  We will be accepting donations on the last three Saturdays of April from 9:00AM until 12:00PM.  Children’s clothing and toys, household items, sports equipment and small appliances in good working order are all good sellers.  Please do not bring plush toys, adult clothing or exercise equipment, none of which have sold well in the past.

* Sign up to help in setting up, cleaning up, manning the church’s table, traffic control or several other jobs that need to be done to have a successful day.

* Tell your friends, neighbors and co-workers about the yard sale and invite them to come.

* Pray for warm temperatures and blue skies on sale day.
